Receptionist / Home Visit Co-ordinator

Medlab South (a division of Healthscope) is the provider of pathology services to the people of Marlborough by way of our long term contract with the Nelson/Marlborough District Health Board. Medlab South Laboratory provides pathology services to the patients of Nelson/Marlborough Hospital Clinicians, General Practitioners, Medical Specialists, and midwives.

The Nelson region enjoys one of New Zealand's sunniest climates and has a wide range of leisure activities, including exceptional walking and mountain biking tracks. The relaxed lifestyle and the flourishing wine and gourmet food industry in Nelson are enjoyed by both locals and visitors alike.

Our Nelson laboratory is looking for a highly organized and experienced customer service person to be the face of our patient services clinic at Collingwood as well as co-ordinate our team of mobile phlebotomists to ensure we deliver a high quality collection service. The hours are 36 hours per fortnight 0600 - 1230 Monday to Friday. To be successful in the role it is desirable to have previous knowledge of Phlebotomy however we are willing to train the right individual who has suitable background and personal attributes as follows:

• Experience working in a laboratory, hospital or medical environment is helpful but not essential
• Excellent communication skills, a high standard of presentation, with a professional and courteous manner.
• Able to work independently and use initiative to solve problems and make decisions appropriately
• High level of computer skills and experience using various computer systems
